Welcome to our humble home here in Roanoke Texas. Roanoke is a little community located 8 miles north east of Fort Worth and 30 miles north west of Dallas just 8 miles west of Grapevine.
The area is populated with around 5 milion people and is located around and mostly between the two major cities Dallas & Fort Worth. The regions lagest airport is Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW Airport) and is located in between Dallas & Fort Worth and is the 3rd largest airport in USA.
The Dallas/Fort Worth area is the eastern region of Texas and is within the humid subtropical climate zone. The northern sections see the most clear days during the summer. The wettest months of the year are April and May. The area is prone to severe thunderstorms and tornadoes when the proper conditions exist, generally in the springtime. Hurricanes also strike the region, the most disastrous of which was the Galveston Hurricane of 1900. More recently Hurricane Rita pummeled the Golden Triangle of southeast Texas. The higher humidity of the region amplifies the feeling of heat during the summer. During winter and spring along the immediate coast, temperatures are kept cool by relatively cool gulf waters. Dense advection fog can form when warm air moves over the cool shelf waters during February and March, stopping ship traffic for days. The typically temperature in the summer month is between 95 to 110 fahrenheit (32 to 45 Celsius).
The summe 2011 from June to September were extremely hot and exceded all records with temperature between 100 to 110 and no rain.
